Style, Simple mode, and Square mode
The Format tab styles a single node, relationship, note, or link when something is selected, and the whole model when nothing is. Two switches in the top bar change what a model shows: Simple mode and Square mode.
The Format tab
With nothing selected the tab is headed Format all and changes the model's style: a change there applies to everything that's visible, while hidden items keep the look they had. With a selection, only the selected items change, and they keep their own look from then on; Reset to model style gives it up again.
- Colors: every color field has a swatch that opens a color picker, a code you can copy or type (
#4f8cffor4f8), and a row of palette dots: clear primary colors with large differences between them. - Sizes: every number is a slider with a field next to it for an exact value. Radius 10–250, border and line widths, arrow size.
- Text sizes: Caption size (default 20), Label size (18), Type size (16), Property size (14). Text colors aren't chosen: text is drawn black or white, whichever reads against its background.
- Labels: background, border color, and border width of the label chips (default 2.5).
- Property background: the color of the box under a node's or relationship's properties, white by default, for nodes and relationships separately.
- Line and Type for relationships: Line color, Line width, Arrow size, Dashed line, Type size, and Type background.
- Auto adjust, next to Radius, on by default: each node sizes itself so that its caption fits on two lines inside. Drag the radius and it turns off for that node.
Sliders and the color picker make one undo step per drag. Reset to default style, the last button under Format all, takes the whole model back to toro4n's defaults and removes the own look of everything visible; it's one undo step and useful after an import.
Theme
toro4n starts light. The theme button in the top bar switches to dark; the choice is remembered in your browser. In dark mode a white canvas is shown gray, so a light model stays readable; a canvas color you chose yourself is shown as it is, and the model, the Background color field, and the export keep the real color.
Simple mode
For demos and first sketches. With Simple mode on, the model shows only the caption inside each node and the type on each relationship: no labels, no properties, no notes, and the side panel is gone, so the canvas takes the full width. A blue banner at the top says SIMPLE MODE, and Add node moves into the top bar. Everything hidden stays in the model and in JSON and Cypher; SVG and PNG follow what you see. Double-clicking a node opens one Caption box; a relationship, its Type box.
Square mode
With Square mode on, every node is a card instead of a circle: the labels in a bold row at the top, the caption in a band in the node's color, and the properties inside in three columns. Properties are always shown in Square mode, and the Radius and Auto adjust fields and the label chips' styling don't apply. It's one switch for the whole model, saved with it, and in Simple mode the circles are used regardless.
