Export a Neo4j graph model: Cypher, JSON, SVG, PNG
The Export button in the top bar (or ⌘E) opens a dialog with four formats. Cypher is for Neo4j, JSON is for toro4n itself, and SVG and PNG are pictures for documents and slides.
Cypher
The Cypher export is a script that creates the model in Neo4j. It starts with one
CREATE CONSTRAINT … IF NOT EXISTS statement per property marked unique
(IS UNIQUE) or required (IS NOT NULL), for the node's first label
or the relationship's type; a node without a label gets none. Then come CREATE
statements for the nodes, with their labels and properties, and for the relationships,
always with a direction (->). A property's value is its example if there
is one, otherwise its type name. Types are not exported as constraints, because the
values are examples and would not always have that type. The script contains everything
in the model, including hidden layers.
JSON
A JSON file is the complete model: nodes, relationships, notes, layers with their visibility and locks, the style, and the model's name. It's the format for saving a model to disk (File → Save as file, ⌘S) and reopening it (Open file, ⌘O, or by dropping it into the window), and for importing and merging models. The file carries the model's creation and modification times and no user identity.
SVG and PNG
Both draw the model exactly as the canvas draws it, with the same text and the same font setting (the computer's system font, so an SVG looks the same wherever it's opened). The image covers everything that's drawn: borders, labels, property lists, and the relationships' texts, with a margin. PNG has a Resolution setting for a sharper image. Check Visible layers only to leave out hidden layers, hidden notes, and hidden properties; otherwise everything is drawn. Simple mode is respected: captions and relationship types only.
Zoom to fit
The Zoom to fit button in the zoom bar, or the 0 key, shows the whole model, measured the same way the export is: everything that's drawn, not just the circles. The view glides there.
Where the export happens
Export is done entirely in your browser, and the file is a download. Nothing is sent anywhere, whether or not you're signed in.
