Switching from toro4n
Everything you need to move your models to another provider or to your own systems.
How to switch
Email hello@toro4n.com to switch providers, move your data to your own systems, or have your data erased. Our Terms of Service set out the steps, time limits, and included data. There's no switching charge.
Data formats and interfaces
We keep this list up to date as required by Article 26 of the EU Data Act.
| Data | Format | Standard or specification |
|---|---|---|
| A whole model | JSON file, UTF-8 | JSON (RFC 8259) in toro4n's document format, version 12: nodes, relationships, notes, layers, and style |
| A model's schema and sample data | Cypher script, UTF-8 | Cypher, Neo4j's query language, closely aligned with GQL (ISO/IEC 39075) |
| A diagram of a model | SVG or PNG file | SVG (W3C), PNG (ISO/IEC 15948) |
| Version history, folders, sharing settings, and account and plan details | JSON, sent on request | JSON (RFC 8259) |
| Invoices | PDF, from Billing and invoices | PDF (ISO 32000) |
| Models online, read and edited by AI assistants | https://toro4n.com/mcp | Model Context Protocol, with OAuth 2.1 sign-in |
Before you switch. Models kept on your device never reach our servers, so save each one as a file from that device. SVG and PNG files are only images, so they can't be reopened as models. A saved JSON file always includes hidden layers. An export leaves them out unless you turn off “Visible layers only” in the Export dialog.
Where toro4n runs
Article 28 of the EU Data Act requires us to say which laws apply to our infrastructure. toro4n is made by Lantz Hedström Consulting AB, a Swedish company governed by Swedish and EU law. It runs on Cloudflare, whose parent, Cloudflare, Inc., is based in the U.S. and may be subject to U.S. law.
Our database, models online, and backups all use Cloudflare's EU jurisdiction restriction, so they're stored and processed only within the EU. Each request first reaches the Cloudflare data center nearest you, which may be outside the EU.
How we protect data from foreign government access
- Technical. Stored data remains under the EU jurisdiction restriction above, and all data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Models online aren't end-to-end encrypted, so Cloudflare can technically access them. Our security page has more details.
- Organizational. We review every request from a public authority, and we disclose data held in the EU to a government outside the EU only where EU or Swedish law permits it.
- Contractual. Under its data processing agreement, Cloudflare must notify us of legal requests for data unless the law prohibits it, and must redirect the requesting authority to us.
